Role Purpose
To act as the discipline expert for Design for a particular work package or process
Specialist Engineer – MRB Design Approver
This opportunity, based at our Prestwick site offers:
1. 37 hour working week (half day Friday)
2. Shift premiums up to 33%, where applicable

Responsibilities
14. Reviews and approves the work of design team members and contractors to fulfil customer expectations.
15. Identifies Design methods and techniques to be utilised for particular work packages
16. Defines Design requirements to be met for particular work packages
17. Defines specific Design skillset training required for a particular work package
18. Assesses potential Design tools and methods which could be utilised for the Business Unit and makes recommendations to senior management
19. Acts as coach/mentor to junior Design staff Supports Chief Design Engineer in preparation for gate reviews
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
20. Graduate in Engineering discipline with typically twelve years practical experience or equivalent recognised experience.
21. Experience in applying tools, techniques and the use of specialised equipment.
22. A thorough understanding of general theories and applications covering a broad knowledge of Design Engineering is required.
23. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Company Procedures and standards relating to engineering, design, health & safety and environment.
24. Proficient in relevant IT applications and software packages
Decision Making Authority
25. Approves others work to ensure Company, Customer and Regulatory requirements are met
26. Identifies and implements methods and techniques to be used within own particular work area
27. Assesses and recommends methods and techniques to be used for the BU
