Senior Project Manager – Amey
Amey is a leading provider of full life‑cycle engineering, operations and decarbonisation solutions for transport infrastructure and complex facilities. This permanent Senior Project Manager role is within our Consulting Rail Design team, delivering sustainable infrastructure projects across the UK.
Overview
You will join a team of senior and junior project managers across Birmingham, Derby, Manchester, York, Bristol and Cardiff, working on major rail projects such as Northern Power House Rail, Eastern Routes Partnership, North West & Central framework, Core Valley Lines, Trans‑Pennine Route Upgrade and Cardiff Crossrail.
Responsibilities
* Lead a project management team, producing technically sound deliverables that meet client and technical standards.
* Prepare, check and maintain project management information, ensuring quality, cost and programme objectives are achieved.
* Oversee and mentor junior staff, supporting their professional development.
* Control project budgets and manage costs, driving commercial success for the portfolio.
* Maintain client and supplier relationships at a peer level, attending progress meetings and responding to queries.
* Contribute to bid preparation and the general business‑winning function.
* Promote effective health and safety practices within the team.
Qualifications
* Experience in project management, preferably in a senior or equivalent role.
* Knowledge of health, safety and welfare management, including the Integrated Management System and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
* Day‑to‑day project management lead for commissioned projects.
* Strong commercial awareness and interface management skills.
* Proficiency with project management software and analytical tools.
* Association for Project Management membership (PPQ or equivalent).
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject.
