Head of Development – Leeds (Hybrid: 3 Days On Site)
My client is investing heavily in their development capability, expanding far beyond beautifully built, SEO-optimised websites into bold, innovative digital campaigns and bespoke web technologies. As Head of Development, you’ll combine hands-on ability with commercial understanding, leading a talented team while driving forward new ideas, new products and new revenue opportunities. You will lead a dedicated development team focused on producing high-quality technical solutions. Working closely with the Head of Digital, you’ll help define the direction of the department, ensuring we deliver work that is both technically strong and commercially valuable.
You’ll also play a key role in shaping custom builds, driving new capabilities, and ensuring our digital offering continues to grow.
They are looking for someone with a strong technical background, a problem-solver with creative thinking, and someone who understands both the detail and the bigger picture.
You’ll need solid experience across frontend and backend development, particularly with React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and Node.js.
You’ll also bring confidence in managing hosting environments and dedicated servers, along with strong communication skills to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
Experience with Git, pipeline tools and standard development cycles is essential.
Additional experience with other CMS platforms, advanced frameworks, SEO or performance optimisation is advantageous.
