Monarch Education is proud to be working with a highly respected special school in Gloucester that supports children and young people aged 11-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a range of complex learning needs. The school is known for its nurturing environment, structured routines, and a strong commitment to helping every pupil thrive-academically, socially, and emotionally.
We are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of students with additional needs. If you're calm, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting young people with autism, this could be the ideal role for you.
Your Role Will Include:
Supporting students with ASD in lessons, helping them stay engaged and focused
Providing one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needs
Assisting with sensory activities and maintaining structured routines
Helping teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
Promoting independence and celebrating every achievement-big or small
What We're Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly autism
A caring, proactive attitude and a willingness to get involved
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Relevant training (e.g. Autism Awareness, Team Teach) is beneficial but not essential
