Job Description About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Crop Protection Research (CPR) Shipping Specialist-Science Liaison to serve as the primary scientific liaison and shipping authority for the global movement of biological and chemical materials, ensuring seamless transport of research materials while maintaining compliance with international regulations. Withing this role you will bridge the gap between scientific needs and logistics requirements, while providing expert guidance to research teams and ensuring all shipments meet safety and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities will include: Partnering with scientists to convert complex research requirements into practical shipping solutions. Supporting global research by advising scientific teams on import/export requirements. Shipping materials according to international regulations (IATA, ADR) and determining appropriate HS codes and import/export requirements. Preparing and validating shipping documentation including Dangerous Goods (DG) declarations, permits, and customs paperwork. Monitoring and adapting to regulatory changes across different jurisdictions, while documenting and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge database of country-specific requirements for different material types, including creating and updating SOPs for recurring shipment types. Developing creative solutions for complex shipping scenarios, while building and maintaining detailed process maps and requirements matrices. Conducting risk assessments for new materials or routes and troubleshooting customs and clearance issues. Designing contingency plans for temperature-sensitive or time-critical shipments. Oversee proper packaging and handling requirements, while maintaining meticulous shipping records and compliance documentation. Coordinating with specialised courier services.
