A well-established engineering manufacturer in Verwood is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join its busy machine shop team. This is a hands‑on, workshop‑based role focused on setting and operating 2 and 3 axis CNC lathes within a stable and well‑organised production environment.
The business is also open to providing training on live and driven tooling, making this an excellent opportunity for a CNC Turner looking to further develop their technical skills while working within a supportive engineering team.
The Role
As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce precision components to required specifications. Key responsibilities include:
- Setting and operating 2 and 3 axis CNC lathes.
- Preparing tooling and work holding from engineering drawings and job sheets.
- Adjusting offsets, changing tooling and inserts to maintain efficient production.
- Carrying out first‑off inspections and using measuring equipment accurately.
- Supporting production targets while maintaining high quality standards.
- Keeping tooling, machines and work areas clean and organised.
- Working closely with other setters, operators and inspection staff to maintain workflow.
- Completing production and quality documentation accurately.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a CNC Turner or CNC Setter.
- Experience setting and operating CNC lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Confident using measuring and inspection equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
- Good understanding of machining processes and tooling.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with 2 and 3 axis CNC turning machines.
- Exposure to live tooling or driven tooling.
