Job Description
The Principal Lawyer will lead teams of Operational and Regulatory lawyers and will be directly responsible for delivering strategic legal work in these disciplines. The work in these areas include operational policing advice, civil orders, police officer misconduct, inquests and a range of other connected areas in Police Law and Practice.
Working as part of the Joint Legal Services Senior Leadership Team, you will operate at a strategic and operational level to deliver an exceptional legal service by identifying and managing Force strategic and reputational risks across numerous and diverse national and regional work streams and on highly sensitive matters.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Principal Lawyer will manage, direct and lead a credible, professional and respected group of lawyers in a wide range of legal work.
Role and Responsibilities
1. As Principal Lawyer, you will influence the future direction, strategy and capability of Joint Legal Services (JLS), including identifying and planning for the organisation's challenges, direction and purpose and drive an integrated approach to service delivery as members of the Senior Leadership Team
