We are looking to appoint an Orthopaedic Consultant to further develop our highly rated soft tissue knee surgery services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your sub‑specialist interest in acute knee injuries and elective soft tissue knee surgery. Applicants will be expected to have completed specialist training in Orthopaedics at FRCS level and to have completed at least one post‑CCT fellowship in soft tissue knee surgery. The post will suit individuals with the desire and resolve to provide modern, high‑quality care. The post is an expansion post to increase our soft tissue specialist consultant base to three consultants and hence there will be a requirement for service improvement if successfully recruited into this post. We will also consider flexible working options, subject to the exigencies of the service.
Qualifications & Experience
* MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
* Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise and entry on the GMC specialist Register; completion of at least one post‑CCT soft tissue knee fellowship
* Clinical supervision experience/skills
* Quality/audit project experience
* Ability to demonstrate trauma expertise in hip, knee and general trauma
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients, with experience in a similar post and a logbook of soft tissue knee procedures
* Experience with paediatric knee pathology
* Completion of service improvement projects in knee surgery
