City University of Hong Kong Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Soil-Machine Interaction (Fixed Term)
Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to conduct research into soil-machine interaction with a focus on robotics. The position is fixed‑term for 36 months.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to basic research on fundamentals of soil-machine interaction, exploring how soil affects the traversal of machines and enabling machines to sense and react to soil conditions.
* Collaborate with academics, junior researchers and international partners at the intersection of soil mechanics, robotics and related disciplines.
* Assist in managing a growing research group working in soil-machine interaction.
* Apply for research grants to support complementary research activities.
Qualifications
* PhD in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, information engineering, or a related discipline.
* Strong record of academic and/or professional achievement, with experience in experimental, theoretical or numerical development.
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
Salary and Terms
Salary range: 37,694 – 46,049 GBP. Fixed-term funding available for 36 months. Health assessment required after offer.
