Come and make a real difference: we are looking for a FEMALE Assistant Service Manager to help make everyday remarkable for our friendly team in Bangor, Gwynedd. We are dedicated to supporting adults who need assistance to live a fulfilled life in our community care assisted living homes in Bangor. In this role you will work alongside the Service Manager to ensure a safe and caring service for the people we support and our colleagues, visible in the day-to-day operation of the service and supporting duties in line with the needs of the people we support. Shifts are on a rota basis and may include sleep-ins. In the absence of the Service Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service, providing leadership and management to the team, monitoring performance, carrying out one-to-ones and appraisals, and holding team meetings.
Responsibilities
* Be visible in the day-to-day operation of the service and support duties in line with the requirements of the people we support.
* Lead and manage the team in the absence of the Service Manager; monitor performance, conduct one-to-ones and appraisals, and hold team meetings.
* Build positive relationships with stakeholders and translate vision and values into a first-class service.
* Focus on achieving the highest levels of independence for the people we support and model person-centred, flexible, and innovative support.
* Be aware that personal care is involved in this role.
* Work shifts on a rota basis, including sleep-ins, and provide cover as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting.
* Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards).
* A strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential.
* Working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice.
* Flexibility to work and provide cover as required.
* Full driving licence is essential and willingness to travel for meetings and training.
* Access to your own car and willingness to use it to transport people we support to activities; willingness to obtain business insurance for the vehicle (we pay 45p per mile).
* Welsh language skills (preferred, not essential) to communicate with Welsh-speaking service users and meet linguistic needs.
Benefits
* Hours: Full time 37 hours per week, including 30 hours of hands-on care and 7 hours of management; shift pattern includes weekends and sleep-ins.
* Salary: £27,224 per annum plus sleep-in shifts at £60 per night; travel expenses paid at 45p per mile.
