Main duties of the job
The roleof a Physiotherapist is to provide a high quality, evidence based physiotherapyservice which promotes the participation and functional activity of childrenand young people. You will provide physiotherapy to children and young peopleaccessing our rehabilitation services, including assessment and intervention tochildren and young people with acquired brain injuries, neurodisabilities andneurodevelopmental and orthopaedic conditions.
Ourservice delivery aims to promote outcome focussed interventions, safe care,function and participation of children and young people accessing home, schooland community life. You will support the delivery of child and family focused,goal led interventions, working in collaboration with education, multi-agencyand multidisciplinary teams.

Job responsibilities
Professionalism
o Meet current HCPC and Chartered Societyof Physiotherapy (CSP) standards, with respect to professionalism and to keepup to date with any changes.

ClinicalResponsibilities
o Provide high quality, evidence basedphysiotherapy provision for children and young people attendingourRehabilitation services, in partnership with other members of theMultidisciplinary Team and education services.
o Undertake physiotherapy assessments ofchildren with complex needs e.g. multiple co-morbidities, neurodisabilities,orthopaedic and chronic conditions, through standardised and non-standardisedassessments and clinical observations.
o Devise suitable, individualised, 24hrphysiotherapy programmes/strategies that fit within the childs daily routine,whether to be carried out by parents or members of the Multidisciplinary Team;these should be monitored, evaluated and adjusted appropriately according tothe needs of the child.
o Develop therapy goals, in collaborationwith the child and family/carers, as well as the multidisciplinary andeducation teams, other health professionals and agencies, to facilitate theparticipation of the child in their life skills.
o Support the multidisciplinary andeducation teams with measuring short term targets, through using, therapyoutcome measurement tools e.g. F-words, Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS).
o Keep appropriate and accurateintervention records, fulfilling legal, professional and all other requirementsof The Childrens Trust.
o Contribute to child related reports,including looked after children and annual review reports as required, andassist with the collation of these as required, in a timely manner in line withorganisational targets.
o Work closely with all members of theMultidisciplinary Team, as well as the child and family, to provide a fullyintegrated approach to the overall management of the child. This will includeany home/school visits, professional child related meetings and/ orappointments, as required.
o Provide clinical cover across theservice during episodes of staff shortage/heavy workload, in order to ensureeffective service delivery.
o Work flexibly in terms of hours,including the ability to work an early evening (weekly) and one weekend day,per calendar month.

o Communicate effectively withchildren/young people (applying the principles of consistent communication).
o Facilitate effective communication withfamilies and members of the Multidisciplinary Team.

Experience
* Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Experience of working with children and families
* Minimum of one years clinical experience as a Physiotherapist in a paediatric setting
* Paediatric placement experience at under graduate level
* Experience of working with children/young people and/ or adults with acquired brain injury or neurodisability
* Experience using specialist mobility and/ or moving and handling equipment:
Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and young people with complex disabilities:

Qualifications
* Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
