This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of the Cheshire Mental Health Support Team's (MHST) based in Cheshire West. We have 1 post available within the Cheshire West team.
The Band 5 Education Mental Health Practitioner/CYPWP will work with colleagues in the Cheshire West MHST based in Chester & Winsford, working closely with education settings and professionals supporting children, young people and their families.
Responsibilities
The post involves working directly with schools, colleges and settings providing information, advice and guidance through consultation, training, direct work with children and young people and their parents / caregivers and delivering evidence based interventions.
The post-holder will work within Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Mental Health Support Team (Cheshire West MHST) and provide a range of assessment and other interventions on an individual and wider systems basis under close clinical supervision from experienced staff.
Accessing regular case management and clinical supervision on an individual and group basis will be an important aspect of the role.
The post-holder will be able to deliver a range of 1:1 and group Low Intensity CBT based interventions for children, young people, and parents/carers.
Qualifications
* Professional registration with recognised National Body (BPS, BABCP) OR be able to obtain registration within 6 months of start date. (If not registered, the applicant will be recruited to a 6‑month fixed‑term contract to allow time for registration; the contract will be amended to permanent once registration is confirmed.)
* Current Band 4 trainee EMHP/CYPW applications will be considered.
* Part‑time 22.5 hours per week.
* Experience delivering Low Intensity CBT based interventions for children, young people and parents/carers.
* Ability to work under close clinical supervision and attend regular case management.
Contract & Training
All new starters will commence in post on one fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme date. P2C offers up to 3 weeks training to support you to meet the induction / initial training requirements of the role.
Applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. A small annual fee of £16 per year applies if you enrol for the DBS Update Service.
