Operations Supervisor
Location: Goole Start Date: ASAP Salary: £33,475 per annum Working Hours: 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday Reports To: Operations Manager
About the Role
We're seeking a hands-on Operations Supervisor to lead and support our clients production team in achieving operational targets safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You'll ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental procedures, while driving continuous improvement and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture. You will also deputise for the Operations Manager as required.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
Ensure full compliance with all H&S policies and regulations.
Conduct risk assessments and maintain up-to-date SOPs.
Lead safety investigations and promote a proactive safety culture.
Manage audits, PPE, and safety training compliance.
Operations & Production
Deliver daily KPIs and maximise line efficiency.
Oversee materials, resources, and stock accuracy (FIFO, PI counts).
Maintain quality standards through adherence to QMS, SOPs, and customer specs.
Support technical audits and manage operational documentation.
Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
Supervise dispatch, PPMs, and CCP monitoring.
Support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
People Leadership
Lead, motivate, and develop a multi-skilled operational team.
Manage staffing levels, inductions, and training needs.
Conduct regular 1:1 reviews, support wellbeing, and promote engagement.
Communicate clearly across shifts and ensure performance expectations are met.
About You
Essential:
Proven supervisory experience in FMCG or manufacturing.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of H&S, GMP, SOPs, and QMS.
Competent in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Food Hygiene Level 2 & IOSH Working Safely.
Desirable:
FLT Counterbalance Licence (2+ years' experience).
IOSH Managing Safely, HACCP Level 2, ILM qualification, or First Aid at Work.
Experience with audits (BRC, ISO) and risk assessments.
