Directorate Support Manager – NHS Lanarkshire
Fixed Term (14 Months) – Full time – 37 Hours a week.
Covering maternity leave for the Trauma & Orthopaedics Directorate at University Hospital Wishaw.
Role Overview
To provide high quality business and operational service support to the Division and contribute to the implementation of strategy ensuring opportunities for continuous development and improvement of services are appropriately considered and pursued to facilitate the delivery of clinical services.
Key Qualifications
* Educated to degree level in business management or equivalent knowledge and demonstrable experience.
* Post graduate expertise within a business management / operational management or health service area that demonstrates the required expert breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
* Line management experience and the ability to manage effectively.
* Effective leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery and demonstrate the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
* Knowledge of planning, operational processes and systems.
* Excellent team‑working skills and ability to motivate and influence others.
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time‑management skills.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
It would be great if you also have
* Post‑graduation expertise within a business management, demonstrating the required expert breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.
* Further education evidence of continuous professional development.
* Operational management or health service area experience.
* Effective leadership skills to enable the day‑to‑day management of service delivery and demonstrate the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
* Effective time‑management skills.
* Basic IT skills.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Trauma and Orthopaedics within University Hospital Wishaw. Applicants shortlisted may be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
