Job Description
This role reports to the General / Accountable Manager and is a full-time, permanent position.
Primary Objective of the Role
To support the Accountable Manager in achieving strategic, operational, and financial goals across Castle Air Academy, Gloucester, and to support the CTKI and FSTD Manager roles. The role acts as a strategic coordinator, analytical advisor, and operational enabler, ensuring smooth execution of initiatives, regulatory compliance, and commercial performance as the Academy scales.
The successful candidate will be proactive, analytical, and able to manage complexity while contributing to strategic initiatives within a dynamic aviation training environment. Building trust with stakeholders, both internal and external, is essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Thinking & Commercial Acumen
Understand broader business goals, identify growth opportunities, and support strategic decision-making. Anticipate business needs, synthesize financial data, track KPIs, benchmark pricing, and contribute to business planning.
1. Aviation Industry Awareness & Regulatory Insight
Understand helicopter flight training operations and UK CAA regulations. Prepare documentation for inspections, interpret regulation changes, support manual maintenance, and liaise with regulators.
1. Project Coordination & Execution
Manage strategic and operational projects, develop project plans, monitor milestones, and coordinate across departments.
1. Stakeholder Management & Communication
Build trusted relationships, communicate effectively, and manage sensitive issues tactfully.
1. Operational Agility & Problem Solving
Respond flexibly to changing needs, handle escalations, and identify operational improvements.
1. Information & Workflow Management
Manage communications, maintain reporting, and organize digital workspaces.

Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior support, operations, or strategy roles.
* Ability to learn quickly in regulated or complex industries.
* Postgraduate qualifications preferred (e.g., MSc/MBA).
* Excellent communication skills and experience with digital project management tools.
* Interest in aviation, education, or training sectors, with willingness to deepen regulatory knowledge.
