Salary £35000.00 to £45000.00 per annum, plus £350-500 bonus per successful bid.


Absolute Interpreting & Translations Ltd is seeking an ambitious, driven, and detail-oriented Bid Lead to work directly alongside its MD in drafting and managing its public-sector language services bids, accelerating its growth to the next level. We require a candidate with demonstrable experience in drafting winning bids and managing the bid process end-to-end. As Absolute's Bid Lead, the candidate must be outcome-focused and an effective communicator, maintaining rapport with both existing and prospecting clients to inform the bid narrative and develop an accurate business development pipeline.



The successful candidate will demonstrate both the ability to draft eloquent narratives, ensuring that every submission clearly articulates our capabilities and strategically aligns with client requirements, as well as the ability to effectively prioritise and manage a high volume of bids, ensuring that we maintain a stable win rate and develop the business.



· Research and Write: Develop and refine high-quality tender responses, proposals, and pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs).

· Liaise with Stakeholders: Monitor tender portals to keep track of CQs, ask incisive clarification questions to inform the tender content, and attend market engagement events to identify key win themes for upcoming tenders.

· Interpret and Ensure Compliance: Review and analyse tender documentation to ensure all submissions fully comply with client specifications and evaluation criteria.

· Develop Content Library: Build and maintain a central repository of standard text, powerful case studies, and central supporting documentation.

· Manage the Bid Process: Oversee the entire end-to-end bid timeline, setting our deadlines for narrative reviews, SQ completion, formatting, and final bid submission.

· Conduct Reviews and Debriefs: Perform post-submission analysis and facilitate internal debriefs to continuously improve bid quality and overall win rates.

· Monitor Market Opportunities: Proactively check and track tender portals for new and relevant business opportunities.



We're seeking a candidate with proven experience in developing compelling bid responses from scratch, including the bid text and the creation/insertion of accompanying content, such as appendices and graphics, within the public sector context; ideally, the language services sector. A key skill is the ability to identify commissioner priorities through scrutiny of service specifications and to weave them into a relevant, compliant, and responsive proposal. Excellent written communication, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills are therefore essential.



Additionally, when there are no live bid opportunities, the bid writer will provide business support, offering various business-related activities under the direct instruction of the MD.



Essentials

· Minimum 3yrs Experience: in a bid writing or combined business development role, with at least some experience in tender management and coordination within the public sector.

· Minimum 2:1: in business, English, Marketing, or similar subject.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills: with demonstrable experience to evidence how these have been applied to tendering.

· Strong project management and organisational skills: with a demonstrated ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and professional document formatting.



Desirable:

* APMP certification
* Experience within the language sector
* Familiarity with procurement portals and frameworks
* Previous successful NHS bid responses
