This is a part time (0.3981 fte), fixed term role from May - July 2026.

Oxford Brookes University is seeking a motivated postgraduate research assistant to support a short research development project focused on research impact in healthcare organisations.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an Oxford Brookes postgraduate student or early career researcher with a background in health, social sciences, or a related field to gain experience in evidence synthesis, academic writing, and research development.
The postholder will work closely with Professor Benita Olivier to conduct a scoping review of international literature on research impact frameworks and indicators used in healthcare research systems, with a particular focus on research capacity and capability development initiatives involving nurses, midwives and allied health professionals, healthcare scientists, pharmacists and clinical psychologists (NMAHPPs).
The findings of this work will inform the development of a major external grant proposal aimed at implementing research impact indicators within healthcare organisations.
Overview of goals of the postgraduate research assistant position:
Working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the postgraduate research assistant will:
* Conduct systematic literature searches using academic databases
* Screen and select relevant literature for inclusion in a scoping review
* Extract and synthesise data from published studies
* Contribute to the analysis and synthesis of international evidence on research impact frameworks and indicators
* Assist in the preparation of academic manuscripts and reports
* Contribute to the preparation of a grant funding application
* Maintain accurate records of the review process and research outputs
* Participate in meetings with members of the research team and collaborators.
Experience required for post:
Experience in undertaking qualitative or quantitative research in the area of Applied Health.
Essential
• Experience conducting literature reviews or evidence synthesis
• Experience with academic databases.
Desirable
• Experience in scoping or systematic reviews
• Familiarity with health services research
• Experience using reference management software (e.g. EndNote, Zotero)
• Interest in research impact or research capacity building.
