Senior Bookkeeper Position

A new opening is available for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper with Payroll experience to join a rapidly expanding accountancy practice.
Our department has gained momentum through rapid expansion, managing a diverse and growing portfolio of client accounts. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a confident, "hands-on" professional who is ready to take full ownership of delivering high-quality bookkeeping and payroll services.

Bookkeeper / Payroll Job Responsibilities
Manage the full bookkeeping cycle for multiple businesses, handling everything from day-to-day data entry to year-end prep.
Perform thorough bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations alongside the maintenance of control accounts.
Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns in line with statutory and practice guidelines.
Produce precise bookkeeping records suitable for management reporting and the preparation of year-end accounts.
Run monthly payroll for approximately 6 clients using specialized software including BrightPay and Xero.
Manage workloads and prioritisation across multiple clients simultaneously, ensuring all external deadlines are comfortably met.
Support the wider team environment, collaborating on departmental goals and maintaining high professional standards.
Bookkeeper / Payroll Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of dedicated Bookkeeping experience is essential.
A minimum of 3 years of Payroll experience is essential.
Strong technical knowledge of Cloud bookkeeping systems, with Xero experience being a distinct advantage.
Proven experience managing accounts and workloads for multiple businesses at the same time.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and supporting team members.
Must hold valid United Kingdom work authorization and be fluent in English.
Able to comfortably commute to the Nuneaton office (initially office-based during the probationary period, moving to a minimum of one day per week in the office thereafter).
