 
        Description Community Care Assistant - fixed term until 31/12/2026 Peffermill Industrial Estate Salary: £29,173 - £33,287 (pro-rate for part-time) Hours: 17.5 per week, 52 weeks This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Sheltered Housing Support Service (SHSS) within ATEC24. ATEC24 provides equipment and telecare services to citizens across Edinburgh. The Sheltered Housing Support Service offers peace of mind for residents by providing a home fitted with a hard-wired alarm system where emergency assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The successful candidate will form part of a small team in the SHSS, with focus on proactively engaging and supporting residents as their alarm equipment is upgraded to digital technology and facilitate the steps to achieve this. They will communicate effectively with a variety of audiences to ensure appropriate support and equipment is provided throughout all current sheltered housing schemes. The role will require on-site visits to sheltered housing schemes in each of Edinburgh’s localities to engage with tenants and support workers; applicants should therefore be flexible to adapt their work location as necessary. The post holder will work within CEC core working hours. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. Experience of successfully providing quality services to citizens in a challenging environment. Proven record of ability to communicate effectively with a person-centric approach. Experience of telecare technologies and how they can be used to enable people to live independently. (Desirable) Experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders. (Desirable) Experience in planning and shaping tenant engagement sessions to achieve desired outcomes. (Desirable) Knowledge, skills and understanding: Able to demonstrate creative, practical and problem-solving skills. Understanding of public service values and meeting and exceeding standards set for your service for your citizens. Highly self-aware and sociable, buoyant and positive when communicating with others. Ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines, in a fast-paced operation environment. Understanding of Microsoft office packages and knowledge of data systems.
