A wonderful surgery in the Twickenham area of London is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse. We are a long-established, teaching practice with over 8,000 patients. We pride ourselves on excellent patient care and are seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic Practice Nurse with experience and training in long-term conditions to join our expanding team. This is a permanent position.
16 hours per week, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Hours and days may be negotiable for the right candidate.
The post-holder will implement and lead on a full range of health promotion and management, ensuring safety, infection control, and compliance with practice policies. Our practice utilizes the EMIS clinical system.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Practice Nurse proactive in developing competencies to meet practice needs. Desirable skills and experience include, but are not limited to, childhood and adult immunizations, travel vaccinations, cytology, contraception, chronic disease management, spirometry, ECG, phlebotomy, annual diabetic/asthma checks, and QOF-related administration.

Job responsibilities
Job Summary
The post-holder is an experienced nurse responsible for delivering safe and effective patient care, managing a diverse clinical caseload, and contributing to the development of nursing services. They will work independently, adhering to NMC standards and protocols, and will work within a multidisciplinary team to meet practice and contractual obligations.
Primary Duties & Areas of Responsibility
* Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate treatment programs promoting health and well-being.
* Develop and deliver nurse-led services, including chronic disease management, maintaining disease registers, and conducting reviews.
* Make autonomous, evidence-based clinical decisions and refer patients appropriately.
* Conduct medication reviews and provide travel health advice and vaccinations.
* Perform procedures such as venepuncture, spirometry, wound management, and cryosurgery.
* Support minor surgery and other procedures with appropriate patient education and support.
* Promote health education on diet, contraception, smoking cessation, and exercise.
* Participate in health screening programs and support patient social and health issues.
