Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership and communication abilities to guide their team towards achieving sales and KPI targets while providing unparalleled service.
Responsibilities
* Support the Store Manager in running all store operations to meet or exceed sales & KPI targets.
* Set clear sales goals, track performance, and evolve processes for continuous store growth.
* Create a positive team culture through recruiting, training, and continuous development.
* Analyze sales data and financial reports to make quick, well‑informed decisions alongside the Store Manager.
* Act as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager’s absence.
* Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints professionally.
* Help manage day‑to‑day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
* Support cash management tasks such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
* Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
* Provide feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
* Support the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules to ensure coverage and productivity.
* Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store’s monthly sales target, including units, conversion, ATV, UPT and upselling targets.
* Maintain a high Net Promoter Score and ensure stock accuracy during audits.
* Keep operational costs within the allocated budget.
Skills and Experience
* Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast‑paced retail/customer‑facing environment.
* Passion for retail and knowledge of the latest trends and competitors.
* Experience coaching and developing individuals.
* Strong communication skills and proven track record of achieving sales targets and KPIs.
* Experience analysing KPI data to make commercial decisions.
* Keen eye for detail, commerciality, and visual merchandising (advantageous).
* Ability to promote JD Group values to internal and external stakeholders.
