Tenancy Sustainment Officer
* Annual Salary: £30,024 to £32,957
* Location: Sheffield, S4 with hybrid work schedule
* Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid
We are seeking a Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join the Housing and Neighbourhood Service team within the Repairs Policy and Improvement Team at a popular local authority in Sheffield. This role is crucial for managing failed entry to properties for cyclical gas safety inspections, ensuring compliance with Landlord responsibilities, and potentially coordinating legal actions with our legal services team.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Work intensively with Neighbourhood Management Teams and various support services across the city to ensure annual gas safety checks are completed.
* Investigate cases and make judgements on whether the Council needs to proceed with legal action.
* Regularly liaise with the legal services team to ensure successful resolution of cases.
* Use own vehicle to conduct site visits, with a mileage allowance provided.
* Balance time between visiting sites (60% of the time) and working from the office or remotely.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Well-developed communication skills, both face-to-face and over the telephone.
* High levels of empathy and a passion for delivering a high level of customer service.
* Ability to work independently, plan and prioritise workload, and deliver to tight deadlines.
* Proficient in producing high-quality performance management data using Excel and internal systems.
* Strong relationship-building skills with both customers and colleagues, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Good judgement and decision-making skills, with an understanding of when to escalate matters to a Team Manager.
* Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
* A positive, can-do attitude.
