Hot Area Lab Technician

up to £29,000 including Shift Allowance
6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm rotating every 4 weeks

We are working with an award winning employer to find a Lab Technician in the Witham area to join their team. As part of the role you will be working within the science and research industry. Full training will be provided; however a keen interest in science is a must!
This role would suit someone looking for a change in direction of career, who is active and has a keen interest in working within a scientific environment. Full training will be provided.
Due to the shift pattern you must be a car driver or live within Witham and not reliant on public transport due to the shift patterns.
Duties
* Initial weighing of samples into cups
* Mixing samples with litharge using an extracted cupboard
* Accurate weighing of metals
* Ensuring the lab is kept clean whilst maintaining safety standards
* Using hand held pump truck to move material
* Placing samples into crucibles and melting within a furnace
* Pouring small amounts of molten material into moulds
Experience
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good communication skills as it will be a team based role
* Good level of flexibility in both time and work
* Maths and any science subject GCSE grade C or higher (Essential)
* No previous furnace experience required as full training will be supplied
