Overview The Customer Strategy & Planning Controller plays a pivotal role in shaping how The Magnum Ice Cream Company engages, grows, and wins with our customers. This position blends commercial strategy, financial planning, and Revenue Growth Management to guide decision‑making aligned with our growth agenda. The ideal candidate is both analytical and strategic, able to translate complex data into actionable plans that drive sustainable customer value and business performance. This role offers an exciting blend of channels across Grocers, Convenience, Leisure and many more and also includes leadership of a team of three. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Commercial Insight Lead the development of customer‑centric strategies that support revenue growth, profitability, and long‑term value creation. Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to build annual customer plans that achieve our 6P priorities, deliver our portfolio strategy and drive Market share. Analyse customer behaviour, market trends, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities and risks. Provide scenario modelling, forecasting, and performance insights to inform strategic decisions. Financial Control & Performance Management Own overall sales forecasting processes, guiding sales and supply teams through data and insight. Monitor performance against targets, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions. Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks that track customer performance and commercial effectiveness. Ensure financial governance and accuracy in customer investment decisions, promotional spend, and pricing strategies. Cross‑Functional Leadership Act as the strategic business partner to customer‑facing teams, ensuring alignment between commercial goals and customer plans. Facilitate cross‑functional planning cycles, ensuring clarity, accountability, and data‑driven decision‑making. Influence senior stakeholders with clear, compelling insights and recommendations. Revenue Growth Management Champion the use of customer analytics, CRM insights, and market intelligence to enhance planning and execution. Ownership of Strategic Price Indices for our brands and how we achieve them through Price, Promotion and PPA strategy. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, embedding best practices in forecasting, reporting, and strategic analysis. Skills & Experience Essential Strong background in FMCG Account management, commercial finance, FP&A, business strategy, or customer planning. Understanding of pricing, promotions, and trade investment frameworks. Proven experience working with customer‑facing teams in a complex, fast‑paced environment. Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, and data interpretation. Ability to translate data into clear narratives and strategic recommendations. Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills. Personal Attributes Commercially curious with a strong strategic mindset. Confident influencing at all levels, including senior leadership.
