About the Role We're looking for a highly analytical and proactive Health & Safety Systems & Assurance Technician to join our team at the Port of Dover. This is a pivotal role, supporting the effective capture, analysis and reporting of health & safety data, while maintaining robust systems that drive compliance and continuous improvement. You'll act as a subject matter expert for our safety reporting and management systems, helping turn data into meaningful insight that influences decision-making at all levels of the organisation. What You'll Be Doing As part of our Health & Safety team, you will: Data, Systems & Insight Analyse H&S data to identify trends, risks and opportunities (leading and lagging indicators) Produce high-quality reports and dashboards to support operational and strategic decision-making Transform complex data into clear, actionable insights Manage and administer H&S reporting platforms and management systems Use tools such as Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts) to deliver accurate analysis Assurance & Compliance Maintain the Integrated Management System and audit programme (ISO 45001 & 9001) Lead and support audits, ensuring corrective actions are tracked through to "Safe Forever" completion Manage the legislation register to ensure ongoing compliance Support accident investigations, including root cause analysis and lessons learned Communication & Engagement Deliver clear, tailored reporting for a range of audiences including frontline teams, leadership and the Board Present data visually through dashboards, graphs and heatmaps Work closely with stakeholders across operations, IT and management Influence and support teams to improve data quality, reporting and safety outcomes Continuous Improvement Contribute to H&S campaigns, lessons learned and performance improvement initiatives Apply continuous improvement techniques to enhance systems and processes Promote a proactive and positive safety culture across the port What We're Looking For Essential skills and experience NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) Proven H&S experience in operational environments Strong experience working with reporting systems and management systems Knowledge of ISO 45001 & 9001 standards Experience in accident investigation and auditing Advanced IT skills, including Excel and reporting tools Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and communicate data Desirable skills and experience Degree in Health & Safety, Engineering, Construction or related field Experience in complex or multi-risk environments Continuous Improvement training (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma) Experience with behavioural safety approaches Familiarity with AI or digital tools for data capture and reporting Benefits 5 weeks annual leave bank holidays (pro rata) Generous contributory pension scheme Discretionary annual bonus scheme Private Health Care Life assurance Employee assistance programme 3rd party discounts Cycle to work scheme Benefits and reward platform Free Parking Employee volunteering scheme Hours of work : 37.5 per week Salary: Up to £34k DOE All applications are reviewed by our team - we do not use AI for screening.
