Main duties of the job
Join our team at the University Hospital Southampton as an Advanced Pharmacy Support Worker, where you'll play a vital role in assisting with the smooth operation of our oncology pharmacy. You will work as part of the oncology pharmacy team to assemble, manufacture, and deliver oncology medication to our patients.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
The post involves working in our aseptic suite as part of a team of experienced technicians and support workers. Your main duties will include:
Passing and maintaining required spray/wipe and broth validations.
Accurately and safely manufacturing treatments using aseptic techniques, including novel and clinical trial medicines, following standard operating procedures.
Undergoing training to become a Science Manufacturing Technician and an Accredited PIPC checker.
Taking responsibility for completing daily documentation required for an aseptic unit.

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
* Numerate and literate, e.g., GCSE in Maths and English Grade 5-9 or equivalent
* HNC (or equivalent experience) in a science-based subject OR 2 A level passes in a science subject OR BTEC Level 3 in a science subject OR equivalent knowledge and experience of pharmaceutical procedures gained through work experience and training
* Level 2 certificate in relevant Pharmacy services or able to complete within 15 months of being in post
* Able to start the Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship within 18 months of being in post
* Aseptic services experience or laboratory-based procedures experience
* Significant supervisory experience
Desirable criteria
* Pre and In Process Checking Qualification (PIPC) or achievable within 18 months
* Experience of using stock management computer systems
* Experience of ordering and stock control
