Mobile Electrician
Covering Scotland’s Central Belt (Edinburgh, Fife, Glasgow & occasionally Isle of Islay). Engineer a brighter future. Join the Sodexo team as an Electrician with strong HVAC expertise to ensure the effective delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance across site facilities.
Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
Salary: Up to £40 000 per annum, DOE, plus Sodexo employee benefits package.
Responsibilities
* Deliver safe, effective, and compliant planned and reactive maintenance across all HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems, ensuring high standards of reliability and performance.
* Perform minor electrical installations and repairs, such as lighting, sockets, switches, and plant equipment.
* Contribute beyond core trade tasks by supporting basic plumbing, unblocking drains, and general maintenance such as fitting shelves or notice boards.
* Ensure all activities comply with health and safety requirements, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and permit‑to‑work systems.
* Provide technical support during critical incidents and participate in the on‑call rota (1 week in 4) for out‑of‑hours support.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified 18th Edition Electrician (BS7671:2018) or equivalent.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in building services or mechanical engineering, with proven expertise across electrical and HVAC systems.
* Demonstrated experience in PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC assets.
* Competent with IT systems, including MS Office and CAFM/CMMS platforms.
* Confident using handheld devices (PDAs) for task management and reporting.
* Physically capable of working at height and in confined spaces.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and engage effectively with clients and colleagues.
* Full, clean UK driving licence.
