We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and pro-active School Librarian to join our dedicated team of staff, where the education, pastoral care and welfare of the pupils and students are paramount. The School Librarian is a key role in our school.
The successful candidate will take a highly creative and active role in the management, development and promotion of the services provided by the school library. They will work closely with teachers from all departments to raise the profile of the library and ensure it contributes to the delivery of the curriculum and fosters a love of reading in our pupils.
What We Are Looking For:
• A genuine love for reading and promoting literacy
• Excellent communication, organisational and digital skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers
• Experience in library/information services
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and develop library resources, ensuring a dynamic space
• Promote reading and library services across the school
• Support curriculum delivery and information skills training
• Manage library bookings and system
• Contribute to school literacy initiatives including listening to pupils read
• Manage the after school homework club
Contract: Permanent, term-time only
Start date: 1st September 2026
Hours: 08:30 to 17:00, 5 days per week = 40 hours per week
Pay: Salary Grade 6a, Point 11-16
FTE: £28,141 - £30,503 per annum
Pro rata: £24,59 - £26,673
Hourly Rate: Point 11 - £14.43
