Overall purpose of the job:
As a Technical Consultant in the IT Solutions team, you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality technical solutions to new and existing customers. This involves working closely with Technical Architects to consult on designs as a subject matter expert, and progress high level designs into low-level designs. You will act as the technical lead during the build of designed solutions.
The role of Technical Consultant typically works as part of a team organised around the delivery of an IT project, normally consisting of a Technical Architect, Project Manager and other engineers involved in the delivery of the solution. You will provide subject matter expertise in your discipline and provide technical leadership to junior members of the project team. From time to time, the Technical Consultant will be required to work on their own to provide consultancy services to customers or to act as an advisor into other in-flight projects as required.
Key responsibilities for this job:
1. Early involvement in IT delivery projects for the creation of Low-level Designs (LLDs)
2. Technical lead during the execution phase of IT projects
3. Liaising with customers to derive detailed requirements and system configurations
4. Working closely with Project Managers and Technical Architects to ensure the successful delivery of solution, on time and to a consistent quality.
5. Provide subject matter expertise in one or more technical discipline – for example, Server, Storage, Networking, End User or Cloud.
6. Working on customer sites or datacentres during the delivery of IT projects
7. Ensuring IT solutions are accepted into support through provision of knowledge transfer sessions, documentation, and post-implementation support.
8. Pioneer the development of repeatable design patterns (blueprints) and scripted installs.

3 years’ experience delivering IT infrastructure projects. Including projects such as:
44. Migration from on-premises infrastructure to cloud services
45. Application hosting / big data platform implementation
46. Large scale desktop rollout / tech refresh (500+)
47. MDM implementation
48. Server virtualization and consolidation
49. Datacentre migrations
50. Thin client implementation
51. Infrastructure automation
52. Business process automation
Desirable Skills:
53. Detailed knowledge of Dell hardware, network, and storage solutions
54. Strong networking implementation & troubleshooting skills
Ideal Qualifications:
55. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
