Quantity Surveyor - Luton - up to 48K plus excellent benefits package
Tradeline are actively recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Contractor specialising in Infrastructure, Groundworks and Build across a variety of sectors including stadia, sport & leisure, education, commercial and logistics.
Our client have a turnover of 16m, increasing to 30m over the next 18 months.
They are offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join their Commercial Team as a Quantity Surveyor based out of their Head Office in Bedfordshire. You will be responsible for projects ranging across the Home Counties, London and Anglian region.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Requirements:

o Regular site visits and liaising with the production team.
o Preparing and reviewing tenders with estimators and assisting with understanding the client's requirements to offer value engineering.
o Providing early cost advice to clients on variations and ensuring only authorised variations are undertaken.
o Offering technical advice on drawings and ensuring each projects have the correct documentation.
o Managing the end-to-end commercial aspects of the assigned projects to maximise value and collaborating with the Finance and Procurement departments accordingly.
o Ensuring all commercial accountabilities are undertaken in a timely manner, with a high degree of accuracy and measure.
o Analysing rates & prices and agreement of variations and / or compensation events as required.
o Identification and analysis of potential debt risks and negotiating financial reconciliation with third parties to provide reasonable solutions.
o Forecasting monthly and annual profit figures ensuring figures are maintained throughout the lifetime of the project.
o Understanding the principles of safety on sites and projects.
o Supporting the safety Director and safety team in the application of safety policy and practice.
o Ensuring that any safety concerns are addressed immediately with the support of the safety team and Directors as appropriate.
o Building strong working relationships with clients including social networking.
o Allocating work to sub-contractors including assistance with procurement when required.
o Relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor on groundwork packages.
o Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel.
o Effective oral and written communication skills.
o Excellent interpersonal skills.
o Demonstrate an extremely high level of confidentiality.
o Excellent organisational skills.
o Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
o Must be able to gather and analyse information skilfully.
Person specification
* Degree qualified within construction, surveying or commercial management.
* Previous experience working as a QS on non-residential projects.
* Dealing with the commercial aspects on civil infrastructure packages or projects is beneficial but not essential.
* Self motivated with a desire to progress their career.
* Able to commute regualrly.
* UK construction project experience essential.
