About the Role: We are seeking a Compliance Manager who will be responsible for ensuring all MEEM products meet global regulatory, safety, and performance standards. You’ll lead on product testing, labelling, and compliance documentation across multiple categories, working closely with suppliers to guarantee every launch is fully compliant and ready for market. You’ll play a key role in protecting customer trust and upholding MEEM’s brand integrity, ensuring our products are not only beautiful, but safe, compliant, and fit for purpose worldwide. Responsibilities: Assess product risks at the start of a new season and support internal teams (Buying, Design and Technical) with defining required testing and/or corrective actions and improvements: Mitigating brand-related risks and preventing legal pitfalls, financial penalties, and reputational damage. Ensure all products comply with local, national, and international regulatory standards, including safety and labelling requirements: Maintain an in-depth understanding of global product testing requirements and safety laws. Oversee all relevant certification required is received, complete and saved on company PLM system in line with critical path deadlines, ensuring global shipments and key launch dates are achieved. Manage relationships with nominated third-party testing labs: Coordinate and maintain testing processes and manuals. Collaborate with Procurement Team with updates to labelling for new territories e.g. Required translations, safety warnings, material declarations. Manage communication with suppliers globally regarding supplier or testing manual updates: Track and maintain responses. Support Garment Tech team with interpretation of complex lab test results. In the event of a testing failure, support internal teams with necessary steps, corrective actions and future improvements. Escalate all critical failures to relevant Directors. Work closely with the Sustainability Coordinator to ensure that product claims (organic, recycled, etc.) are supported with proper certification/documentation. Manage the E-Filing platform process Provide training to design, buying, and technical teams as required. Skills: Ideally a degree in Compliance, Supply Chain, Business, Law, or a related field. Experience in a similar role within apparel/fashion/textile industry. In-depth knowledge of global product safety and ethical sourcing laws (e.g. REACH, CPSIA, Prop 65, EN71, etc.). Familiarity with product testing protocols and established relationships with global test laboratories. Experience managing a wide range of product types. Solid understanding of garment construction and textile properties. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to interpret legal and regulatory documentation. Experience working with global suppliers and navigating complex regulatory environments. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
