Hours: 37 per week
Pay Rates: PAYE: £32.00 per hour
Limited/Umbrella: £41.75 per hour
Job Description
The Isle of Wight Council is seeking a Social Worker – Level 3 (Social Care Qualified) to join the Children’s Services directorate. This temporary role will provide essential support while recruitment is in progress, ensuring the delivery of high-quality social care services to children, young people, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake assessments of children and families in line with statutory requirements and best practice.
* Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring safeguarding and welfare are prioritised.
* Provide direct support and intervention to children and families, working collaboratively with partner agencies.
* Manage a varied caseload, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with legislation and council policies.
* Contribute to multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and reviews.
* Deliver professional advice and guidance to colleagues and partner organisations.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the council’s values, equalities policies, and safeguarding procedures.
Requirements:
* Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration.
* Experience working within Children’s Services or a similar statutory social care environment.
* Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
* Excellent communication, assessment, and case management skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Commitment to delivering high-quality, child-centred social care services.
