Quantity Surveyor – North-West
Ward & Burke are looking for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and support the delivery of several live construction and water infrastructure schemes across the North West region.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growing business. You’ll manage costs from pre-contract through to final account, working closely with our engineers and site teams to ensure commercial control across your projects. We’re looking for a self-starter – someone who takes ownership, works on their own initiative, and is keen to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, and forecasts for multiple live projects with values ranging from £1m to £20m.
* Produce monthly cost and commercial reports.
* Manage subcontract procurement, including tender preparation, evaluation, and recommendation.
* Negotiate and agree subcontract orders and variations.
* Prepare and submit interim applications and manage client valuations.
* Assess and value change events, variations, and claims.
* Maintain accurate cost records, registers, and commercial documentation.
* Work with project and site teams to identify and manage commercial risk.
* Support final account negotiations and project close-out.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, civil engineering, or water infrastructure.
* Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
* Experience with cost reporting, valuations, and subcontract management.
* Commercially astute with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
* Confident working independently and managing your own workload.
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (desirable).
* UK driving license
