Building Surveyor (Client Side)
An established and well-resourced property owner is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their in-house team in Kent.
This is a client-side, project-focused role offering the opportunity to work across a diverse and interesting portfolio including residential, agricultural and retail assets. The position sits within a collaborative internal construction management team and offers genuine involvement from strategy through to delivery.
The opportunity
* Leading and supporting a range of project-focused surveying instructions
* Diagnosing building pathology and preparing detailed specifications of work
* Contract administration and overseeing works on site
* Working closely with the internal construction management team to deliver projects effectively
* Supporting change of use strategies across the portfolio
* Advising on works to conservation and heritage buildings
* Ensuring projects are delivered to programme, budget and quality standards
About you
* Proven experience in a Building Surveying role (client-side or consultancy)
* Strong technical knowledge including building pathology and specification writing
* Experience administering contracts and managing works on site
* Understanding of conservation and heritage buildings
* Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to change of use strategies
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach
* Able to work both independently and as part of a wider team
* MRICS qualified or working towards chartership (desirable)
