Are you a proactive and reflective SENCO seeking a role where you can shape inclusion across a whole school? A forward-looking primary in Nottinghamshire is recruiting a SENCO to join senior leadership and lead SEND strategy from January 2026. The SENCO will design a coherent SEND offer, lead monitoring and evaluation of targeted programmes, and ensure statutory compliance across the school. In this role the SENCO will be expected to use data to target resources and to build staff capability through bespoke training and coaching. The Nottinghamshire school places emphasis on partnership working, and the SENCO will liaise regularly with local authority teams and specialist services throughout Nottinghamshire. The position begins January 2026, and the successful SENCO will be supported with a comprehensive induction and access to local SENCO networks to share practice and strengthen provision. Key responsibilities Develop and implement a school-wide SEND improvement plan that drives measurable outcomes. Coordinate resources, interventions and assessment to accelerate pupil progress. Lead staff development and provide coaching on differentiation and adaptive teaching. Manage statutory paperwork, referrals and multi-agency meetings in a timely, compliant manner. Report to governors and senior leaders on SEND performance and strategic priorities. Person specification Experienced teacher with SENCO accreditation or equivalent experience leading SEND. Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and experience of multi-agency casework. Able to work strategically with leadership teams while maintaining high-quality casework. Confident presenter of data and able to translate findings into actionable plans across Nottinghamshire. Ready to start in January 2026 and to be based in Nottinghamshire.
