Suffolk County Council is looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist to join our Disabled Children and Young People's team, working across Suffolk. Your role and responsibilities You will: deliver high-quality occupational therapy assessments for children and young people with complex disabilities, mainly in their home environment prescribe simple and specialist equipment make recommendations for minor and major adaptations work closely with families, carers, and professionals across health, education, housing, and community services manage a varied and complex caseload. You will need: an Occupational Therapist qualification and be registered with the HCPC post-qualification experience, ideally within a social care or paediatric setting to demonstrable experience in delivering occupational therapy services to children and families strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills ability to manage complex cases and work independently excellent communication and organisational skills a collaborative approach to working with families and professionals. The team The Children and Young People’s Occupational Therapy Team is a small, committed, and supportive team of Occupational Therapy Managers and Occupational Therapists. We work alongside Social Workers, Family Support Workers, and Business Support colleagues within the Disabled Children and Young People’s Team. The team provides both social care and occupational therapy support to children, young people with complex disabilities, and their families/carers.
