Empowering U is a nurse-led complex care provider specialising in supporting individuals with complex conditions including spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, and long-term neurological needs. We are currently recruiting experienced Complex Healthcare Assistants to join a specialist care team supporting a gentleman with a spinal cord injury transitioning from rehabilitation back into his home environment.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a clinically supported, rehabilitation-focused package, overseen by a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
About the Role
You will be part of a consistent care team delivering high-quality, person-centred support within a home setting. Care is clinically guided and focused on maintaining rehabilitation progress, promoting independence, and preventing hospital readmission.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting with personal care and complex moving & handling
* Assisting with 4-hourly repositioning and pressure care
* Supporting respiratory care including manual cough assist and nebulisers
* Monitoring for signs of Autonomic Dysreflexia and escalating concerns appropriately
* Supporting rehabilitation goals and daily routines
* Maintaining high infection prevention and hygiene standards
* Accurate documentation and communication with the clinical team

Requirements
* Experience in complex care
* Confident with moving & handling techniques
* Compassionate, calm, and reliable approach
* Strong communication and observation skills
* Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
* Experience supporting spinal cord injury or respiratory needs
* Experience within rehabilitation or complex home care packages
