As part of the growing Design Team our client is seeking a Civil / Structural Design Engineer to join the team to work on civil & structural design works.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Develop civil and structural design drawings for renewable energy projects (foundations, access roads, drainage, cable routes, substations).
* Prepare site layout plans, earthworks, and grading designs using CAD and BIM tools. Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct design reviews, resolve clashes, and maintain accurate documentation. Support planning applications and provide technical input for tender documentation.
* Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders (contractors, suppliers, authorities).
* Assisting with designing steelwork and reinforced concrete
* Foundation design
* Structural design to Eurocode Standards
* Preparation of material specifications
* Preparation of calculations and drawings
* Drawing preparation & detailing – AutoCAD
Occasional travel to and from work sites
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and other design software.
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, renewable energy infrastructure, and grid connection requirements.
Knowledge of Irish and EU design standards, building regulations, and environmental legislation.
Excellent attention to detail
Minimum Degree qualified – Civil/Structural Engineering (NFQ Level 8) or related discipline.
3+ years experience in civil design, preferably in renewable energy or utilities
Familiarity with GIS tools and BIM workflows is an advantage.
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Relevant industry experience though not essential, would be an advantage
