Job Overview
Neptune Ward is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Paediatric Band 5 nurse to join an established team and help develop the service offered. The ward cares for patients aged 0-16 years with a wide array of presentations, from emergency surgical intervention to acute illness.
Responsibilities
* Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate Paediatric care for children and young people from admission through to discharge.
* Provide safe and competent family-centred care to babies, children and teenagers throughout their inpatient stay.
* Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-standard holistic, individualised nursing care.
* Adhere to infection control policies, procedures and guidelines, using appropriate hand hygiene practices at all times.
* Adhere to the NMC code of Professional Conduct and comply with hospital policies and procedures.
* Participate in governance processes and continue to develop capabilities and nursing knowledge in line with the Trusts career pathway.
* Maintain an up-to-date portfolio of evidence.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse Child or Registered Sick Childrens Nurse.
* Open to Adult Registered Nurses with NHS experience who are interested in expanding their skills into children’s nursing.
Working Hours
Shift patterns include weekends, nights and bank holidays.
