This is a fast-paced, hands-on role at the centre of the team - supporting fee earners and helping ensure clients receive consistent, sensitive, and well-organised support during what can often be a very difficult time.
Please note: we are specifically looking for experienced administrators (not graduates or candidates seeking progression into legal roles such as paralegal/legal assistant positions). This is a stable support role, not a stepping stone into fee earning work.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support to the Family department
2. Handling client calls and enquiries in a professional and sensitive manner
3. Carrying out conflict checks and processing new client information
4. Maintaining accurate, compliant, and well-managed files
5. Preparing court bundles, documents, and briefs
6. Booking counsel and ensuring all hearing requirements are in place
7. Supporting billing and cost schedules for private client matters
8. Assisting across the department and providing occasional reception cover
What we’re looking for:
9. At least 1 year’s experience in a strong administrative/support role (legal experience desirable but not essential)
10. Excellent IT and typing skills
11. Highly organised with strong attention to detail
12. Calm, professional, and able to manage competing priorities
13. Confident communicating with clients in a supportive and empathetic way
14. A reliable team player who is happy to support wherever needed
15. Discreet and trustworthy when dealing with sensitive information
This is a role where you will be genuinely relied upon and valued as a key part of a close-knit team, helping things run smoothly day to day.
Hours: Part-time (3 - 4 days per week), with flexibility to work up to 5pm
If you’re an experienced administrator looking for a stable, busy support role within a friendly and professional environment, we’d love to hear from you.
