As a KYC Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Fintech, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation, optimisation, and continuous enhancement of Know Your Customer (KYC) processes to ensure both regulatory compliance and effective risk mitigation. What you'll be doing Project Support & Stakeholder Collaboration: IT Systems Enhancement: Lead KYC process improvement initiatives in collaboration with IT by identifying pain points, testing new solutions, and refining workflows. New Products/Customers: Support onboarding processes for new or complex customer types requiring special handling. Develop and implement KYC policies and procedures to align with company expectations. Training, Development & Knowledge Sharing: Identify skill gaps within the team and support the creation and delivery of targeted training programs. Mentor junior team members and ensure ongoing learning and development to strengthen KYC knowledge and regulatory understanding. Act as the subject matter expert for all KYC-related inquiries. Host regular knowledge-sharing sessions to communicate updates on processes, regulatory changes, and best practices. Quality Assurance: Conduct monthly quality checks of completed cases (targeted at the Analyst level) to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulations. Provide structured feedback to the KYC Lead to support continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the KYC Lead to address operational challenges and drive process improvements. Provide regular feedback on team performance and resource needs. Contribute to the design and enhancement of systems and tools to improve case management and KYC workflows. KYC Lead Support & Reporting. Serve as the central point of coordination and proactively communicate with the KYC Lead on team quality, product and market updates, and reporting needs. Act as a backup for the KYC Lead during absences (e.g., holidays, sick leave), including the approval of EDD cases. What We're Looking For A minimum of 5 years in KYC/AML compliance within the financial services industry, preferably in a Fintech environment. Proven experience in developing and implementing KYC policies and procedures. Strong knowledge of UK regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to KYC/AML Compliance. Very good understanding of end-to-end KYC and client on-boarding processes. Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with exceptional presentation expertise. Ability to manage conflicting priorities and communicate effectively. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills with a focus on quality and process.
