Our Client
Our client is a UK-based operating company within a larger international group. The business operates a commercially driven, sales-led model supplying specialist products to trade and professional customers nationwide. With an established market presence and recognised product portfolio, it combines entrepreneurial agility with the governance, infrastructure and shared capability of a wider group structure to support sustainable growth and operational discipline.
The Role
The Managing Director plays a pivotal role in shaping the long-term strategic and commercial direction of the business. Beyond leading day-to-day operations, the position requires defining and delivering a clear growth agenda that strengthens market position, enhances brand value and reinforces operational resilience. With full accountability for revenue and profit performance, the Managing Director ensures commercial ambition is supported by disciplined execution across all areas of the organisation.
Key responsibilities include delivering revenue and EBITDA targets, leading national account strategy, driving pricing and forecasting rigour, and overseeing structured new product introduction aligned to market demand. The role also encompasses oversight of complex international sourcing arrangements, long lead-time supply planning, inventory optimisation and working capital control, alongside responsibility for warehousing, customer service, compliance and governance. Close collaboration across group functions is essential to ensure aligned and sustainable performance.
Candidates will have proven experience leading a commercially driven, sales-led product business with full P&L accountability. A strong track record in revenue growth, margin management, forecasting discipline and international supply chain oversight is essential, ideally within trade, product distribution or related markets. The successful individual will demonstrate credible leadership, commercial judgement and the ability to balance strategic direction with operational control in a performance-focused environment.
