Head of Property Compliance - 14 month fixed term contract - Devizes, SN10 2AZ, United Kingdom
As Head of Property Compliance, you’ll be our strategic and technically skilled leader to heading the Property Compliance function, overseeing teams responsible for key areas including asbestos, water hygiene, lifts, radon, communal M&E systems, automated access, and working-at-height safety.
You’ll come to the role with a proven track record of managing technical teams and contractors, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and internal standards, and driving performance through the effective delivery of surveys, servicing, maintenance, and remedial works.
You will be confident in implementing modern digital solutions, managing significant findings, and ensuring robust safety arrangements across the portfolio.
Key responsibilities in the role will include
* Ensuring Aster affords the necessary budget and resources to ensure property compliance
* Planning and implementing robust working processes to limit risk and increase assurance
* Leading on procurement ensuring specifications are created that will ensure works are delivered in line with the operational needs of the business and offer VFM for Aster & our customers.
* Generating working efficiencies.
* Developing, supporting, and motivating the team, ensuring there is a collaborative approach with all business support functions to ensure a first-class service is delivered to our customers, providing them the safest possible environment
* Identifying areas where the business is exposed to compliance-based risks and formulate business improvement plans/corrective measures to be implemented.
About you
You will have significant experience of managing property safety aspects of a large social housing asset portfolio and working in (social housing) property services at senior manager or Head of Service level.
You will come to the role with a proven track record of managing/leading a team of specialist contract managers, surveyors and contractors both in house and externally.
You will be qualified in a relatable discipline and will have working knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
You’ll be experienced in developing and utilising KPIs to monitor performance and inform decision making.
You will be a strong communicator with the ability to build good working relationships and the written skills to create detailed technical specification and contract documentation.
This is a hybrid role and you can base yourself from home if you wish. Travel may be required in our operating region.
Our operating region includes Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London.
