Your main tasks and responsibilities:
• Development and Optimization: Create and implement effective solutions. Review and offer improvements to specifications, scopes, and processes. Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Engineering Documents: Create and review engineering drawings and material specifications, while overseeing parts procurement. Catalog, maintain, and protect current technical documents.
• Mechanical Design and Validation: Conduct mechanical design work and validate to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Technical Support: Provide Technical support for specialized and complex projects.
• Production and Vendors: Partner with production teams and vendors to ensure proper techniques and processes. Qualify new vendors.
• Technical Reports: Prepare and submit technical reports detailing conditions, recommendations, & creative solutions.
• Shop and Tooling Improvements: Identify and implement enhancements to shop processes and tooling. Maintain the metrology program.
• Compliance: Ensure that all work adheres to safety, quality, and industry standards (ISO).
To succeed in this role, you will need:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Relevant Experience: Experience with rotating equipment and gas turbines is a plus.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface with personnel from diverse backgrounds at all organizational levels.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn technical and design aspects of rotating equipment services and repairs.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a shop environment.
• Overtime Flexibility: Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
