About the Orders of St John Care Trust:
The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) is one of the UK’s leading not-for-profit care providers. Our sole purpose is to provide the best possible care to those who live with us - some of the most vulnerable people in society.
The Trust’s charity status means we are regulated not only by the Care Quality Commission, an independent regulator, but also by the Charities Commission, a government body ensuring that all the Trust does is for public benefit. It also means that any profit is re-invested in the care we provide, our people who provide it, and in improving our buildings which are our residents’ homes.
About the role:
We are looking for a Learning and Development Advisor to join our Learning and Development Team. The main purpose of the role is to deliver training to OSJCT colleagues working in our Care Homes and Schemes giving them the skills and knowledge they need to provide compassionate person-centred care to our residents. You will be responsible for the delivery of the courses such as our Trust Induction, Living Well with Dementia, End of Life and Emergency First Aid at Work. With this there will be some administration to record and update records for the training you deliver as well as updating training materials with our subject matter experts. As part of your role you will also actively promote good working relationships with in-home training leads and registered managers.
About you:
Ideally you will have previous experience working in a role where you have delivered training, preferably in adult social care. The training you deliver is engaging, fun, inspiring and professional. You are a role model for quality and service and be able to champion the Trust Values and support the colleagues working in our homes and schemes to meet our high standards and expectations and meet our residents needs and external compliance responsibilities.
You will be able to demonstrate how you deliver training and support others to learn and grow and ideally hold an accredited qualification in adult learning e.g. Certificate in Training Practice CIPD. You have an ability to learn new subject areas and be competent to share this knowledge in training quickly.
A full driving licence and your own car is essential, as you will be traveling across North Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire working independently.
What you will get in return
Here’s an overview of the main benefits you get as a valued member of the team at OSJCT:
1. Full training and support in the subject areas you deliver
2. Excellent career development and leadership opportunities
