Job Description:

The Operations Business Product Owner will be responsible for defining and driving the vision, strategy, and roadmap for operational products and processes. The role requires a strategic and analytical thinker who can translate business needs into actionable product requirements.

The role will support the development and implementation of assigned initiatives and business product projects, supporting HSB UK and Ireland in achieving its 2025 and beyond ambitions for profitable growth and market-leading customer experience.


Key Responsibilities:

* Support the implementation of HSB Building Warranty Insurance Services’ annual operational and strategic plans in line with HSB UK and Ireland’s ambitions.
* Interface with Munich Re IT and HSB, acting as the point of contact during IT change ceremonies to facilitate requirements, scope determination, solution delivery, and process improvement feedback.
* Manage the backlog for selected MD Group systems, supporting business prioritization and ensuring artifacts are ready for change.
* Understand and manage implications of business change and feed upcoming system changes into the Operations Change Manager.
* Report on project progress, scope, benefits, objectives, and costs.
* Evaluate software solutions in collaboration with GSI Enterprise Architects based on business needs.
* Advise on opportunities for product development, maximizing system and analytics use.
* Define and communicate product vision and strategy aligned with operational goals.
* Develop and implement product development strategies to support new products, tools, and technologies.
* Collaborate to identify opportunities for innovative products meeting market demand.
* Lead multiple projects, ensuring timely, within scope, and within budget delivery.
* Work with the Operations Business Change Manager to ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
* Assess impacts of new products and changes, developing mitigation strategies.
* Monitor product outcomes and customer feedback for continuous improvement.


Key Skills & Experience:

* Effective stakeholder management at all levels
* Strong analytical skills to interpret trends and inform decisions
* Proven leadership and project management experience
* Understanding of risks in the insurance sector
* Knowledge of the business and market environment for non-life property insurance


Qualifications & Educational Requirements:

* Fully qualified professional insurance designation
* University degree or equivalent (preferred)
