Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking experienced and resilient Behaviour Support professionals to work in schools across Sheffield.
As a Behaviour Support specialist, you will work directly with pupils whose behaviour presents a barrier to their own learning and the learning of those around them. This is not a passive role — it calls for someone who is proactive, perceptive, and genuinely invested in helping young people make better choices and develop the emotional tools they need to succeed.
Responsibilities:
* Provide focused behaviour support to individual pupils or small groups identified as needing additional intervention
* Work proactively with teachers and pastoral staff to implement and review behaviour management plans
* Build consistent, professional relationships with pupils based on mutual respect and clear boundaries
* Recognise early warning signs and de-escalate situations before they develop
* Support pupils in understanding the impact of their behaviour and developing effective coping strategies
* Maintain accurate records of incidents and pupil progress, reporting regularly to the relevant staff
* Promote a school culture of safety, respect, and positive conduct at all times
Requirements:
* Demonstrated experience supporting young people with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties
* A firm but fair approach, with the ability to remain calm and consistent under pressure
* Strong relationship-building skills and the emotional intelligence to engage effectively with challenging pupils
* A working understanding of behaviour management frameworks and de-escalation techniques
* The ability to collaborate closely with a wider team of teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
* A resilient, reflective, and thoroughly professional attitude
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new application)
