Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for Consultant Paediatricians (full time) with a special interest to join our close knit and engaged team, complementing our established team of 16 consultants, providing attending and on-call services for our General Paediatrics and Level 2 Neonatal Unit. These roles are mainly based at Broomfield, and we would expect you to have a special interest in Safeguarding, Neonates and Cardiology. If you do not currently have the relevant experience, you are encouraged to apply as we are pleased to offer support and development for these roles. For those with a special interest there will also be opportunities to undertake and develop expertise in other areas as described above.

Responsibilities
The main duties of the roles are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service. You will:
* Provide clinical leadership and set standards of clinical care.
* Participate in the development of acute child health services and promote integration between primary and secondary care services and preventative health.
* Undertake 3 outpatient sessions per week.
* Work in a multi-disciplinary team and have clinical accountability for the day-to-day management of children at their respective sites as a consultant of the week.
* Work with colleagues in the level 2 neonatal department to provide an effective and safe neonatal service.
* Develop clinical protocols and guidelines and maintain involvement in clinical audit and clinical governance.
Specialist Interests and Qualifications
* Specialist interests as outlined (Safeguarding, Neonates, Cardiology) are essential.
* Maintain APLS/NLS provider status and stay up to date with current developments in acute and neonatal paediatrics.
