About The Role
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while showcasing ethical sourcing and recommending recipes to customers. You’ll help bring our ethos to life: passionate Partners serving food lovers. You will use enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships with customers, influence their impression of the Waitrose brand, and earn trust and loyalty. You will also help maximise sales and profit.
Key Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for your own food counter, ensuring the highest presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
* Stay on top of stock levels, ensuring the products our customers love are available when needed.
* Handle open food with care and follow all due diligence and health & safety protocols; help reduce food wastage.
* Maintain knowledge of new products and a good understanding of Waitrose's food values (e.g. animal welfare).
* Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as required.
Essential Skills/Experience You'll Need
* Communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.
Desirable Skills/Experience You May Have
* Experience in a customer-facing role is welcomed.
* Experience in a catering / hospitality environment.
* Up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the whole branch.
