TLC Care has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Chef Manager to support the first-class food service at their care home. We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for cooking to join our award-winning team, where you will have the opportunity to expand your culinary skills.
The main purpose of the Chef Manager's role is to organise and control the efficient and economical production of quality food within the budget, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with EHO regulations. Food preparation will be expected to be of a very high standard and will include:
* Preparing, cooking, and serving hot and cold meals as required
* Providing for special dietary requirements, including Kosher, Halal, vegan, and vegetarian cuisine, taking into account individual resident preferences
The Chef Manager will also be responsible for:
* Recruitment of kitchen team members
* Auditing and ensuring the kitchen adheres to EHO regulations
* Following the IDDSI framework and ensuring all dietary requirements are met
* Demonstrating good leadership skills
* Producing a timely 4-week kitchen rota
* Assisting with training of the kitchen team
* Developing menus using sustainable produce
* Placing orders
* Conducting monthly stock takes
* Monitoring and controlling food costs within budgeted guidelines
* Overseeing the food safety management system
Qualifications:
* City & Guilds Level 1 & 2, or equivalent (achieved or working towards)
* Basic Food / Hygiene Certificate
* Previous supervisor experience
Skills:
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Team player
